The Strategic Roles of Peshmerga

In a seminar at RRC in Erbil ‘’the strategic roles of Peshmerga’’ been discussed. As well as the role of Peshmerga in protecting Kurdistan post referendum.

The military experts and generals from US, Russia, Germany and Finland army, and military, political experts from Iraq and Kurdistan all have discussed the challenges and issues will face state of Kurdistan.

Ernie Audino retired American general with 28 years’ experience in military believes the role of Peshmerga in the future is’’ like any other modern army is to defend borders of the country. This role will stabilize economic and diplomatic situation. Peshmerga is protective of all main pillars of national force that can make Kurdistan secured and stronger’’.

In the view of military experts role of Peshmerga has not finished yet, but should be more organized and unified to continue in the fight against terror and gain more international support.

Pavel Felgenhauer Russian military expert told Rudaw ‘’ Peshmerga is affective force in the region. To end ISIS Peshmerga should continue in fighting those organizations in order to end terror and ally with international forces. Peshmerga should work to become stronger in the future.’’

Southern Kurdistan is getting closer to organize referendum for independence, therefore whenever discuss the future of Kurdish independent state the issue of protecting the borders and land is number one issue which is related to Peshmerga.
